descripção |
The piece is based on the melody attributed to Hryhory Skovoroda, the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher and poet of the 18th century. Several lines from his poem 'For Every City its Custom and Lows', which are incorporated into the score of this piece, should be recited or sung soundlessly (as if to oneself) by the accordionist when playing the proper phrases. The work was written for the Ukrainian/German accordionist Roman Yusipey and premiered by him in 2013. |
